Lawn Work

Ashton loves to help dad do the lawn work. I can't imagine why Tony's body aches by days end. Not to mention...this is July in Florida. It's only about 93 degrees with 100% humidity!

Typhoon Lagoon

The boys and I spent an afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon with my girlfriend Tami and her daughter, Jennifer. The boys loved playing in the water, but Ashton's favorite was the mini lazy river.
Just the Beginning
This was how it all started. This video was taken mid-May during a baby shower we hosted at our house. You can hear the 'audience' in the background. He's quite the little entertainer. He never really pulled himself up on furniture, instead he just stood from a sitting position. It was about a month later that he began walking.
Birthday Boys

We ended up being in Wisconsin in early May, so we celebrated Carson's 1st and Ashton's 3rd birthdays with our family. They are 23 months apart to the day, so we celebrated this birthday together.
Ashton's New Car

Ashton got a new car for his birthday from Aunt Tracy/Uncle Leif and Uncle Shane/Aunt Dia and cousin Breck. It is still in Wisconsin, but will probably make its way to Florida this winter. Hint, hint Grandma and Grandpa Sparby.
The Farm

While home for Grandma's funeral, my cousin Angie invited us to visit the farm. It was so great to see cattle in the barn again.

Wisconsin

I flew solo with the boys (Tony joined us the following day) to Wisconsin to see family. Luckily we have good little travelers. This trip was uneventful. I couldn't say the same when I flew alone with them the following month. Oh well...memories! Here is Carson chillin' with his cracker in the window seat.
Ashton was a good big brother and gave up the window seat in exchange for a movie.
Ashton pulled his very own suitcase through the airport and on/off the plane. Such a big boy. He was still attached to his nuk at this time, but we 'mailed them to babies' the day after his 3rd birthday and hasn't asked for it since.

Good morning bedhead!
The boys love to take the cushions off of the furniture. This way Carson can actually crawl up onto the couch and Ashton can build forts/houses. On today's 'to do' list...clean the leather furniture (again!).We're all about Disney!

Deadliest Catch
A failed attempt to see Sig and Edgar Hansen (and deckhand, Matt) from the Deadliest Catch at Epcot. This was the closest I got to having my picture taken with them! The line was 1-2 hours long and that just doesn't work with a 1 year old and a 3 year old. Oh well...good effort.
Here they are with some random people. Tony said that we should have photoshopped our faces on to their bodies. Just don't have that much time on my hands right now. :)

Our Little Trombone Player
Not really sure where this came from, but Ashton displayed his newest talent for us...playing the trombone. "Trombone, trombone, bone, bone, bone!"
July 2009
Tony and I took some time off work to take Ashton to his very first movie in a theater. We saw the Disney Pixar movie, 'Up' and Ashton thought it was pretty cool. He got his own box of popcorn and everything!
A day at the beach...we don't travel lightly! That beach umbrella helps us keep our pasty, white, mid-western skin from burning in the hot Florida sun!
The boys building a sand castle. I think Carson's favorite part of the beach was eating the sand. You'd think he would have stopped after one mouthful, but apparently he thought it was so yummy he just couldn't get enough!
One of mom's days out with the boys. Today we visited the Fun Factory, a local bounce-house establishment. Carson and Ashton had an absolute blast.

We were at the cabin when Carson started walking. He had actually taken a few steps the week earlier, but this was the real deal. He never went back to crawling after this!

Carson LOVES to go outside and screeches at the top of his lungs when it is time to come in. For a brief period of time I was able to just pull his chair up to the door and let him play with the door knob. It made him believe he actually had a chance to escape and gave me the opportunity to finish making dinner in peace!
